Utrecht, 30 januari 2023 – Koninklijke Jaarbeurs wint vandaag de nationale gouden award voor ‘Beste Congreslocatie van het jaar 2022’. Initiatiefnemer van de awards is het vaktijdschrift voor zakelijke evenementenlocaties MEETINGS. Jeroen van Hooff, CEO Koninklijke Jaarbeurs: “Het winnen van deze award voelt als een enorme eer. We zijn ontzettend trots dat we dagelijks een podium kunnen bieden voor uitzonderlijke evenementen en bijzondere ontmoetingen. Van een groot congres in ons Beatrix Theater tot een op maat gemaakt congres in ons Media Plaza.”

Gouden award: meer dan een centrale locatie en een goede zaal
Jaarbeurs wint de publieksprijs voor de geweldige locatie en voor de veelheid aan kleine tot grote zalen. Daarnaast heeft de locatie een sterk ondersteunend team. Erik Peekel, dagvoorzitter: “Zeg je een eventlocatie, dan zeg je Jaarbeurs. Iconisch, men kent het en doet wat het moet doen.”

Jeroen van Hooff: “We bestaan ruim 105 jaar en draaien dus al wat generaties mee. Al die ervaring zetten we in voor onze klanten en gasten. Zo hebben onze congreslocaties ieder een eigen stijl. Je kunt met een locatie en faciliteiten op maat het imago van de klant uitdragen en versterken. Van klanten krijgen we regelmatig de feedback dat we goed meedenken en adviseren om een zo goed mogelijk congres neer te zetten. Elkaar ontmoeten staat bij ons op de eerste plaats en de manier waarop zorgt daarbij voor een blijvende indruk.”

Ook zet Jaarbeurs continu stappen op het gebied van verduurzaming. “In 2023 willen we op jaarbasis minimaal 900 ton CO2 besparen in onze horeca. Daarom hebben we onder andere het assortiment grotendeels vegetarisch gemaakt. Voedsel dat over is verkopen we via Too Good To Go en verpakt voedsel doneren we aan de Voedselbank”, licht Jeroen van Hooff toe.

Verkiezing Congreslocatie van het Jaar
De MEETINGS AWARDS is een jaarlijks initiatief van vakblad MEETINGS, bestaande uit vier publieksprijzen onderverdeeld in de categorieën ‘Beste Vergaderlocatie’, ‘Beste Evenementenlocatie’, ‘Beste Trainingslocatie’ en ‘Beste Congreslocatie’. De MEETINGS AWARDS worden sinds 2006 uitgereikt aan de beste MICE-bedrijven en locaties. De awards zijn ontstaan vanuit de tijdschriften Conference & Event en Training, Development & Locations (TD&L), nu onderdeel van het brede vakmagazine MEETINGS. Van 1 oktober tot en met 31 december 2022 kon er gestemd worden op de beste Meetingslocaties in Nederland en België.

Royal Jaarbeurs wins Gold Award for Best Conference Venue 

Utrecht, 30 January 2023 – Royal Jaarbeurs wins National Gold Award for ‘Best Congress Venue of 2022’. Initiator of the award is the trade journal for business events venues MEETINGS. Jeroen van Hooff, CEO Royal Jaarbeurs: “Winning this award is a huge honour. We are extremely proud of being able to offer a stage for exceptional events and facilitate special encounters on a daily basis. From a huge congress at our Beatrix Theatre to custom conferences at our Media Plaza.”

Gold Award: more than a central location with good rooms

Jaarbeurs won the audience award for its great location and for the great variety of small rooms to large halls. In addition, the location has a strong support team. Erik Peekel, moderator: “If you say event venue, you say Jaarbeurs. It is iconic, people know it, and ‘it does what it says on the tin’.”

Jeroen van Hooff: “We have been around for more than 105 years and have generations of experience in this industry. We use all that experience for the benefit of our customers and their guests. For example, our congress locations each have their own style. With a the right location and custom facilities, you can convey and boost the image of the customer. We regularly receive feedback from customers about how cooperative we were and that we gave them good advice on how to organise the congress in the best possible way. Our first priority is the encounter between people, and the way in which that is facilitated makes a lasting impression.”

Jaarbeurs is also continuously taking steps in the field of sustainability. “In 2023, we want to save at least 900 tonnes of CO2 in our hospitality activities. That is why, among other things, we now have a primarily vegetarian food range. We sell left-over food via Too Good To Go and we donate packaged food to the local food bank,” Jeroen van Hooff explains.

Election Congress Venue of the Year

The MEETINGS AWARDS is an annual initiative of the trade journal MEETINGS. It comprises four audience awards in the categories ‘Best Meeting Venue’, ‘Best Event Venue’, ‘Best Training Venue’ and ‘Best Congress Venue’. The MEETINGS AWARDS have been awarded to the best MICE companies and venues since 2006. Initially, the awards were an idea of the magazines Conference & Event and Training, Development & Locations (TD&L), now merged into the industry-broad trade journal MEETINGS. People
